If you've ever heard a dulcimer being played at a "historic" festival, or a "reenactment" of one type or another, you probably know what a dulcimer sounds like.

Or maybe you don't.

In a one-hour concert, you might hear a tune like you heard at the "costumed" event, but you might not. Richard is known for playing a huge variety of styles and genres in a single program.

He's glad to play a traditional fiddle tune. Very glad, actually. Try not to get him started!

But, he's just as happy playing a pop or rock tune. Or a jazz standard. Or something from the Broadway repertoire. The dulcimer is often perceived as "limited", or "traditional only", but when you hear Richard play, you'll find out that the instrument is more versatile than the instrument you heard at an "old time" or "pioneer" festival.
